In the Venetian-era labyrinth of Corfu's old town, there is said to be a room that cannot be found twice — a chamber entirely lined with mirrors, hidden behind a blank wall in one of the narrow alleys off Nikiforou Theotoki Street. Those who stumble into it report seeing reflections of themselves from different points in time — past and future versions — standing alongside them.
A British travel writer documented seven local testimonies about the room in a 1931 memoir, including a merchant who claimed to have seen his own death reflected there. The room is said to disappear from the alley within minutes of being found. The phenomenon is locally attributed to a Venetian alchemist who reportedly lived and died in the building in 1612.
